Much like Bon Appetit restaurant critic Andrew Knowlton did last summer when he called SF the best food city in the country and named two SF restaurants to his annual list of the best new spots in the country, they have a new piece up titled "8 Ways SF Does It Better, from Coffee to Burritos (And, Yes, They Know It)."
As part of their "Eat Like a Local" series, writer Christine Muhlke lists out the various ways that SF's food scene is superior to all others, not the least of which because we have amazing bakeries and patisseries (she calls out Vive La Tarte in SoMa as well as Tartine and Craftsman and Wolves), rad "Cali-ethnic" spots like Cala and Liholiho Yacht Club, and a bevy of talented female chefs.
She also declares our cocktails to be the bomb ("Trick Dog forever!"), as well as our coffee.
But unfortunately she appears to have fallen prey to the curse of that FiveThirtyEight burrito bracket from two years ago that declared La Taqueria to have the city's most superior burrito. She even calls it "life-changing." Everyone who knows their burritos knows that this simply is incorrect, and Cancun is better, as are several other places. The end.
