Cable car service screeched to a halt yesterday, after one of the historic vehicles collided with a garbage truck in Nob Hill.
The collision occurred at 9:20 a.m. yesterday, at the intersection of Mason and Jackson Streets, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency spokesperson Paul Rose told Bay City News.
The Powell/Mason line cable car was outbound when the collision occurred, Rose said. Thus far, no additional details from the incident are available, nor is it clear which driver was at fault in the crash.
Four people reported injuries following the collision, but none were injured seriously enough to require a trip to the hospital, Rose said.
Cable car service on the Powell/Mason line, as well as on the Powell/Hyde and California lines was shut down for over three hours following the crash, and resumed at 12:20 p.m.
