Hopefully most of you have by now watched this week's Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, in which the comedian brilliantly skewers Donald Trump and all his Donald Trump smugness, dishonesty, and spurious claims about his own net worth and self-funded campaign. Oliver also discussed a fact that a biographer revealed last year, which is that Trump's family name is, indeed, a made-up Americanization of a more foreign-sounding, and far less appealing name that was taken on by one of his German ancestors, and that name was Drumpf. Two days on, Oliver's #MakeDonaldDrumpfAgain campaign was one of the worldwide trending Twitter topics in the last 24 hours, and as the New York Times' Upshot blog now tells us, web searches for "Donald Drumpf" now beat out searches for Republican hopefuls Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.

This leads writer Justin Wolfers to say...

And so I’m led to conclude — with my tongue somewhere in the vicinity of my cheek — that Mr. Oliver and his #MakeDonaldDrumpfAgain movement has executed a more successful campaign than either Mr. Rubio or Mr. Cruz.

As a percent of searches for Donald Trump in the last 24 hours, and compared to Rubio (18%) and Cruz (21%), almost 26% of searchers are typing in Donald Drumpf.

It is heartening that a comedian on the left has finally (finally!) aimed his arrows squarely at the heart of Trump's brand, and as Oliver suggests, "If you are considering voting for Donald Trump... stop and take a moment to imagine how you would feel if you just met a guy named Donald Drumpf, a litigious serial liar with a string of broken business ventures and the support of a former Klan leader who he can't decide whether or not to condemn. Would you think he would make a good President, or is the spell now somewhat broken?"

Below, watch the entire, excellently researched, 21-minute piece/rant, which will hopefully reach more than just liberal Democrat ears on this Super Tuesday.
