When local photojournalist Steve Rhodes hopped on a Mission-bound BART train yesterday, he was confronted with a strange site — "about a third" of the seats in the train car he was on had their cushions ripped off and were lying on the floor of the vehicle.
Weird, right? According to BART, they believe whoever did this was "looking for coins or other items." Though, it seems odd that it's apparently that easy to pull the seats on BART apart, doesn't it?
@tigerbeat Thanks for sharing. Rider was looking for coins or other items. We'll forward to our #SFBART team for follow up.

Have you experienced this BART seat reckoning during your commute, or do you think this was a rarity?
