This should come as no huge surprise, but our own pretty little city ranks high on a list of the most photographable, Instagrammable places on earth, according to Travel and Leisure. As they note, "Instagram has quickly become the new photo album for travelers," but of course it's impossible to distinguish between tourists and residents on Instagram, who are equally likely, especially in a city as magnificent as San Francisco, to be posting photos of the bridges and the sights. And it's our iconic Golden Gate Bridge that ranks #10 on this list of the 20 most Instagrammed places on earth.
Because they're much huger cities with huger Instagramming populations, New York and L.A. rank higher than we do on this list, with Times Square being the world's most Instagrammed place Β and Dodger Stadium, oddly, the most photographed in LA. But given how small a city SF is by comparison, that's a pretty impressive amount of Instagramming. The Golden Gate, in fact, beat out Chicago's Wrigley Field and the Colosseum in Rome.
Here are a few more recent examples, #SanFrancisco.
