After a Potrero Hill man allegedly had "graphic sexual conversations" with an underaged girl, investigators say they found enough evidence in his possession to arrest him for production and possession of child pornography.
According to San Francisco Police Department spokesperson Officer Grace Gatpandan, last month "a concerned mother" walked into the Bayview Police Station and told officers that "an adult male had been having graphic sexual conversations with her minor daughter."
The reporting mom told police that during the conversations, which took place online and via cellphone, "her daughter had been coerced into producing sexually graphic images of herself and sending them to the adult male," Gatpandan says.
The man had reciprocated, Gatpandan says, responding to the girl with "sexually graphic images of himself."
Officers from the Bayview Station and SFPD's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, identified the man in question as 27-year-old San Franciscan Antonio Navarro, a picture of whom you see at the right.
On November 9, investigators from the ICAC and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations arrested Navarro in front of his Watchman Way home, just steps from the Potrero Hill Playground.
When he was arrested, Gatpandan says, investigators found "graphic images" of the minor with whom he'd allegedly been in conversation.
He was booked into San Francisco County Jail, and faces charges of using a minor for sex acts, possession or control of child pornography, sending harmful matter to a minor and meeting a minor for lewd purposes, child molesting, and arranging a meeting with a minor for lewd purposes. According to the SF Sheriff's department, as of publication time he remains in their custody.
