This Halloweek there are, as you might expect, plenty of themed events at your favorite haunts. The theme, of course, more than Halloween is silliness and crappy jokes and puns. Nonetheless, there's genuine horror to be found here — and plenty of it in the Armory's haunted house, if fear is what you seek. We've thrown in extra listings on Friday and Saturday and nixed Sunday, because, well, you'll be dead by then.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27

JAPANESE HORROR FLICK: It's Japanese Horror Week at the Roxie, and one of the movies tonight is Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Kairo (Pulse), wherein "A website, which at first appears to be merely a scary hoax with an irresistible marketing ploy, turns out to be run by a sinister and deadly force. As people repeatedly tap into the site’s frightening images of the dead, the supernatural force begins controlling their lives." The Roxie, 3117 16th Street, 9 p.m., $10

MALTESE FALCON SCREENING: A hard-boiled evening screening of a classic movie at the Tenderloin Museum with guest and local Dashiell Hammett expert Don Herron, as featured in the New York Time's article San Francisco Noir. Tenderloin Museum, 398 Eddy Street, 6:30 p.m., $10

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28

GOP DEBATE COMMISERATION PARTY: "Cocktails, popcorn and our special guest professional funny person, acclaimed SF comic Nato Green, and we'll get through this together." The Chapel, 777 Valencia Street, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Free

ROCKY HORROR PRODUCTION: From the organizers: "Come on up to the lab...again. Just in time for Halloween, Ray of Light's 15th season closes out with a reprise of one of our favorites: Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show, live at the Victoria Theatre. Join us for a special engagement full-scale production of the original hit musical that will have you shivering in anticipation." Victoria Theatre, 2961 16th Street, 8 p.m., $20 and up

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29

SCARYOKE: "Let loose under cover of costume with those songs you've been too embarrassed to try before!" writes the one and only Karaoke DJ KJ Purple. Yes, I'm talking about the guy who plays through instrumental breaks on sax, harmonica, and more. Looking for a festive song for the occasion? "Werewolves of London" is on the list, just sayin'. Slate Bar, 2925 16th Street, 9:30 p.m., Free

ED HARDY ART SHOW RECEPTION: From the exhibit at the Midway, curated by Hardy’s assistant Trevor Ewald and presented by Varnish Fine Art, "Visionary Subversive is a major exhibition of original art by one of the world’s most well-known cultural icons... During the counterculture revolution of 1960’s San Francisco, Ed Hardy began subverting notions of what art is, and elevated tattoo from a marginalized craft to the vital contemporary art form as it is known today. He continues to look beyond cultural boundaries to inspire his personal art and inform the public, promoting art world underdogs to Sailor Jerry infamy." Though Hardy's legacy has been besmirched by those god-awful shirts, this is a rare opportunity to see a living legend and his new work (he hasn't tattooed in a while, and this is where all his creative energy is going, apparently). The Midway, 900 Marin St, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Free

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30

MORNING DANCE PARTY ON A BOAT: Daybreaker, the go-to event for those who can throw down in the morning, has paired with Hornblower Cruises & Events along with Dusty Rhino DJs. Convene early at 6:30 a.m. if you'd like to do Yoga, or if you don't need to stretch to start dancing, just make sure to get there before they set sail at 7:15 a.m. Hornblower Cruises & Events, Pier 3, 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., $40 and up

HAUNTED POP-UP: In a classic San Francisco victorian Mansion, "experience a Halloween-themed 4-course, fine-dining experience by Chef Bronson Macomber (an alum of GARY DANKO) served by the living dead... [with] eerie acts." Pre-dinner drinks in the graveyard, anyone? The Payne Mansion, 1409 Sutter Street, 6 p.m., $125

ZOMBIE PUB CRAWL: Is what it sounds like. Free. Order as follows:

"8:00 PM - Thieves Tavern
9:30 PM - The Armory
11:00 PM - Zeitgeist
12:00 AM - BRAINS"

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31

ROVING COSTUME DANCE PARTY: "Halloween may be only one night," organizers warn, but DanceOWeen will haunt you for a lifetime." They mean that... "In a good way." To clarify, this is people dancing in costume in the streets, and it's a lot of fun if you're not trying to drive past."This year features not only the joyfullest crazy haunted roving dance party, but also more Tricks and Treats hidden behind doors along the way, a Haunted Bus, and Kandy Karaoke." 16th St BART Plaza, then unclear but probably audible, 10 p.m., Free

JELLO SHOTS: Oddjob's got them, and music, and some of the best drinks around at the bar. Presumably a lower-key option than a club, this will definitely work for cocktail enthusiasts. They're calling it the Blood Bath and this is the second annual. Oddjob,1337 Mission Street, 8 p.m. "until late," Free

HOTEL PARTY: What better place to spend an evening than the Clift's iconic Redwood Room. There, explore the 7 deadly sins, and hopefully one of those is champagne. A photo booth, DJs, and more await. Clift Hotel, 495 Geary Street, 9 p.m., $50
