For all of you who freaked out when you realized you missed June's Corgi Con on Ocean Beach, the universe has given you a second chance: Northern California's Fall Corgi Con is tomorrow, and if it's anything like the summer one, it's gonna be a blast.
According to event organizers, the June event had over 500 corgis in attendance, which seems like it should be illegal under regulations that determine how much cute might cause human brains to explode.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, corgis, their guardians, and those who love them will be amassing on Ocean Beach between Stairwell 21 and Fulton Street for frolicking, a raffle to benefit Corgi Aid and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, and, best of all, races. Here's a taste of last year's event:
According to this Saturday's Facebook event page, 3700 people are planning on coming. That's A LOT of little dogs.
And while you're over at OB, check out the LEAP Sandcastle contest (10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ocean Beach near Balboa and Great Highway (hmm, already wondering how these two events will mesh, or collide), then walk up to the Ocean Beach Music and Art Festival, which runs from 11-7 on Noriega Street between 45th and 47th Avenues. Make an West Side day of it!
