Police are looking for a suspect who they say sexually assaulted a boy inside a public library bathroom.

On the afternoon of September 27, around 1:45 p.m., a 6-year-old boy was using the restroom in the Western Addition branch of the SF Public Library when he encountered the suspect. The SF Examiner reports that the man kissed the boy on the cheek and inappropriately touched him before the boy told his mother, who was waiting outside of the restroom. The boy's mother yelled at the suspect before he ran out of the building and south down Scott Street.

"We're deeply disturbed and dismayed that this incident happened," said Deputy City Librarian Michael Lambert. "This is the only incident that we have on record of a child being sexually assaulted."

On Friday the SFPD's Special Victim's Unit released a composite sketch of the suspect and a description, in the hopes the public can help track him down. He's described as a white male, 28-32 years old, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 160 pounds.
