Another one of several new food spots to debut in the Market Square complex opened this week, and that's the revamp of long-ago SF margarita and Tex-Mex destination, The Cadillac Bar & Grill. The new spot is on the 9th Street side of the block-wide complex, opposite the 10th Street end where the entrances to Dirty Water and the upcoming Bon Marché (opening Aug. 24) are. And as Inside Scoop reports, they're open for lunch and happy hour only for now, with dinner starting on Monday.
"Puffy" corn-shell tacos, kind of reminiscent of Taco Bell gorditas, are at the center of the menu, as well as some truly 1980's style mesquite-grilled fajitas, as well as shareable botana platters featuring grilled seafood, chicken, or the Cadillac combo of steak and chicken fajitas with carnitas.
And of course there are the margarita options, with a basic House Margarita ($6) made with Sauza gold, and a Cadillac margarita ($10) with Grand Marnier and Cointreau, and Arrette Reposado. There are also mezcal versions, and you can order any of them as pitchers ($24-$32).
Cadillac Bar & Grill - 44 9th Street - Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until 8/16, regular hours starting 8/17
