A bizarre chase involving multiple people and two vehicles ended near a 30-foot cliff in South San Francisco where the Chron reports a body was discovered Tuesday afternoon, at the base of the cliff. The victim has been identified, as Bay City News tells us, as 22-year-old Demarea Taylor, of San Francisco.
Taylor was traveling in a car with two other SF residents when they were chased by a silver SUV out of the city around 10:30 p.m. Monday night. Police received reports of shots fired near the end of Point San Bruno Boulevard, a dead-end street next to the Genentech campus, where Taylor and the other two people got out of their car and tried to flee on foot. Witnesses apparently saw one of the men in the SUV get out of the car and fire several rounds at the fleeing men.
Police initially believed no one was injured in the shooting, but then Taylor's body was discovered at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the base of the cliff, next to the Bay.
Also on Tuesday the silver SUV believed to have been used by the suspects was found near the corner of Geneva and Brookdale Avenues in Crocker Amazon.
South San Francisco police are still seeking more information about the incident, and are taking tips at (650) 877-8910.
