"Five years ago I never thought we'd even see the day that you were marrying a man... you've come a long way, I mean, from being in a long-term relationship with an abusive lesbian who looked like Andy Warhol..."
That's just one of a number of deadpan funny lines from the slightly morose, Hal Hartley-esque, darkly funny urban gay web series called "Dog Days" that just recently released the above pilot episode. The show was written by Matthew Francis, who also stars as Russell, a guy who's having kind of a bummer of a summer as his dog dies and his boyfriend breaks up with him all in the same week. The series is directed by Joe LaRue and also features Aysan Celik, Elliott Kennerson, and Francis Chewning.
And there's a funny sequence about Nancy Pelosi's house.
Francis tells SFist that they'll be launching a Kickstarter soon to help fund future episodes.
