It's time to revive the Vallejo Is Whack tag as the city to our north presents us with another bizarre and scary crime. This time the victim is a 29-year-old woman (her Facebook page doesn't give her age, but ABC 7 confirms it) named Denise Huskins, who was apparently kidnapped from right outside or right near her home where she lives with her boyfriend, on Mare Island in Vallejo.

The 30-year-old man, Aaron Quinn, who is not a person of interest in the case, told police that there was a ransom demand, as Vallejo police revealed during a morning news conference Tuesday, as the Chronicle reports. CBS 5 confirms, though police have not, that he is Huskins' boyfriend.

Huskins was apparently taken by force early Monday morning in her own car that had been on the property at 524 Kirkland Avenue — a white 2000 Toyota Camry — and Quinn reported her missing, along with the ransom demand, at 2 p.m. Monday. It was not clear why he had waited as long as he had, or long it took for the ransom demand to be made.

The Camry was later found at an undisclosed location.

According to the Chron, Quinn works with Huskins at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo.

Vallejo police are looking for any and all leads in the case, and tips should be called in to (707) 648-4524.
