A disagreement between a man and woman in SoMa took a decidedly violent turn Sunday night, after the man ran the woman over, leaving her with life-threatening injuries.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the couple was involved in a verbal altercation near Ninth and Harrison Streets on Sunday night at around 9:40.
The man was apparently in the driver's seat of a vehicle. The woman was outside the vehicle, trying to get in, when the man tried to drive away.
She fell and was struck by the vehicle, suffering "serious" head trauma and a broken leg. She is presently being treated at San Francisco General Hospital, and is in critical condition.
The man took off in the vehicle, which police describe only as "black." An SFPD spokesperson could not provide any description of the driver or any details on his relationship to the woman, but confirmed that no arrests have been made at publication time.
