A woman walking along a seawall at Pier 39 fell into the bay, where paddling in the cold water she cried for help and tried to stay afloat. Fortunately, firefighters were able to rescue her, which KGO-TV filmed.
The events took place just before 11 p.m. First, crews tossed a rope and floatation device to her, before hoisting her out of the cold waters. She was in the water for about five minutes before help arrived, according to witnesses. Expected to be fine, she was nonetheless transported to a hospital.
