Yes, today's storm is screwing up the Bay Area and flooding our streets, but there's one silver lining for San Franciscans, as parking meters won't be enforced today.
According to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, meter maids won't be working to enforce the city's parking meter rules as parking control officers are needed to focus on controlling storm-addled traffic, not ticketing parkers.
"Parking control officers are more focused on keeping traffic moving and keeping people safe," Muni spokesman Paul Rose told Bay City News. He did say, however, that any parkers who are causing safety hazards, will still get a ticket.
But parking at an expired meter? Go for it, you rebel you.
And for those of you who thought that this was too good to be true:
ATTN: No meter enforcement today. #BayAreaStorm
