We told you about the FBI's Uniform Crime Report for 2013 earlier this week, when they rated the "Safest And Most Dangerous Cities In The Bay Area." That sure was interesting! But so are their numbers on crimes in San Francisco, especially since all of them appear to be rising (except homicides). Let's take a look at the numbers:
- 69: The number of homicides in SF 2012
- 48: The number of homicides in 2013
- 108: The number of rapes reported in SF in 2012
- 161: The number of rapes reported in SF in 2013 (Note: The FBI said that increases in rape might be attributed to a "new federal definition of the crime that broadens how incidents are classified," so keep that in mind)
- 3,484: The number of reported robberies in SF in 2012
- 4,202: The number of reported robberies in SF in 2013
- 2,116: SF's aggravated assault number for 2012
- 2,653: SF's aggravated assault number for 2013
- 5,317: SF's burglary number in 2012
- 5,931: SF's burglary number in 2013
- 28,242: The number of larcenies and thefts reported in 2012
- 36,527: The number of larcenies and thefts reported in 2013
- 5,339: The number of stolen cars people reported in 2012
- 5,866: The number of stolen cars people reported in 2013
- 207: The number of arsons reported in SF in 2012
- 277: The number of arsons reported in SF in 2013
