Even though things have quieted down a bit up in Vallejo, it's time to revive our Vallejo Is Whack tag to bring your attention to a string of robberies that have been happening around shopping centers in the (sometimes troubled) city to the north. Citizens are being urged to travel in groups when going shopping after multiple victims have been robbed of purses and jewelry either by force or out of fear, as CBS 5 reports.
The Vallejo Times-Herald describes the suspects as "black males in their late teens or early 20s," and they can appear in groups of two or three or alone. One was caught on camera, at an OfficeMax last Sunday, wearing a hooded windbreaker (see photo).
As ABC 7 says, Vallejo residents are being urged to be vigilant about their surroundings, especially as the holiday shopping season approaches.
Vallejo police are also seeking tips at (800) 488-9383.
