It's been a rough road back for Bryan Stow, the SF Giants fan who suffered serious brain trauma when he was was brutally beaten outside Dodgers Stadium in 2011. Stow spoke publicly in an interview with ESPN broadcast last night (and embedded below), and it's clear he's made tremendous progress, but still has a long way to go. One constant that remained throughout his ordeal: he always remembered that he was a Giants fan.
Now cared for by his parents in their Capitola home after insurance ran out in June for full-time residential care, Stow celebrated as he watched Game 1 of the World Series last night, saying "The Giants are where it’s at."
Stow still has significant memory issues, needs more surgery, and will always require full-time care, his parents say. But when asked if he ever forgot that he loved the Giants, his mother responded emphatically: "No, no he never forgot that."
