A second suspect has been arrested in an assault outside an SF Giants game at AT&T Park that injured two, and with cell phone video of the entire incident now available for the watching, things aren't looking too good for the alleged culprits.
As you might recall, at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday June 11, a 28-year-old San Jose man and a 27-year-old Oakland woman were leaving a game between the SF Giants and the Oakland A's when, witnesses say, the soon-to-be-assault suspects and the man began to argue.
According to San Francisco Police Department spokesperson Officer Albie Esparza, one of the suspects punched the man in the face, and when the woman attempted to intervene, the second suspect punched her and knocked her unconscious.
This account appears to be borne out by the below cell phone video of the altercation acquired by KTVU.
In the video, in which KTVU has helpfully bleeped out all profanities, you see the two men arguing before the woman steps up, only to be struck down almost immediately.
Witnesses say that suspects fled the area of Second and King Streets in a gold Toyota Tundra truck, but were tracked to Sacramento, where police arrested the owner of the truck, 32-year-old Francisco Lopez, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, Esparza said.
By Friday night, they'd found the second suspect and man believed to have punched the woman, 42-year-old Anthony Rucker, who was arrested by Sacramento police on a warrant of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing serious injury, challenging to a fight/fighting in public and conspiracy.
The male victim suffered chipped teeth in the attack. The female victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital after the assault, but returned home to recover as of Friday morning.
