19-year-old Yuba City Saira Munoz is facing deportation after staging an illicit bake sale to pay for her prom dress.

According to CBS, Munoz was a senior at River Valley High School when she cooked up her plan before last year's prom. Although she didn't have money to buy a dress, she had weed and a business plan. Unfortunately, the whole thing fell apart when another student got sick eating one of her pot brownies and had to be taken to the hospital.

Because Munoz enlisted another student to help sell the brownies, she was charged with a felony count of employing a minor to sell marijuana. Earlier this week a judge sentenced Munoz to nine days in jail and four years of probation. Unfortunately for Munoz, who moved from Mexico to Yuba City just north of Sacramento in 2000, the county probation department had to notify the feds of her conviction and she could now be facing deportation.

"People make mistakes," Munoz's friend Carlos Robles said with typical teen aplomb. "No, there’s people that deserve to be deported, and she just wasn’t one of them." The local CBS affiliate in Sacramento has the story:
