Meet Your New Puppy On Saturday
When Wonderdog volunteer Chelsey rescued beagle/lab mix Betty from a scheduled death in Modesto, she probably didn't expect Betty to give birth to eight puppies on the Bay Bridge. But that's what happened! Now Chelsey's looking for homes for all of these little nerds. Could one of them end up with you?
You can meet the family on Saturday at The Animal House (157 Fillmore near Waller), which is absolutely my favorite pet supply store, and I know my pet supply stores. They'll be there from noon-3 pm. You should go, adopt one, and name him/her "Eve." According to the Richmond SF blog, priority will be given to Richmond District residents, but if you live elsewhere I'd still give it a shot.
Who Shot Sid?
Moraga lab Sid is recovering after some cretin shot him in the eye with a pellet gun. Police are investigating who might have done the deed, but his guardian has a suspect in mind.
According to guardian Ellen Gunderson, after she told one neighbor about the crime "he says, yeah, I have a pellet gun. And his reaction was just to be silent, to not say anything, whereas everyone else was just so shocked." However, the neighbor says he's not the shooter. Sid's on medication and is stuck in a cone.

SF Dog Gets Westminster Props
San Francisco rescue dog Roo was named the "Best Mixed Breed Dog" at the Westminster Kennel Club show's first agility competition. The husky mix competed alongside trainer Stacey Campbell of local dog training operation Go Fetch Go. "In local dog competition circles, having Roo win is the equivalent to the San Francisco Giants winning a World Series," ABC7 said.
Roo came from extremely humble beginnings: the ACC found her as a stray in McClaren Park, and she was adopted and returned twice before she fell under Campbell's care. No, I was just cutting onions, that's all.
