Someone rang in the new year with unconventional ceremony in Oakland's Tilden Park, where authorities have discovered a human skull on a paper plate. The skull was found "out in the open" on Wednesday evening, sitting atop a log and surrounded by beads near Grizzly Peak Boulevard, about a half mile west of South Park Drive.
Authorities have stated that the skull appears to be that of an older man and is not Native American in origin. No other bones were found in the area, and it's unclear whether the discovery was a prank, New Year's ritual or something more sinister.
