Our interest in local petty bank robbers is matched only by our ongoing and perverse fascination with whomever at the FBI issues their nicknames, and here's another for the books: the FBI is now seeking a "Bad Beard Bandit Bank Robber" wanted in five cases across Northern California.
And oh, what a beard it is. Per the release:
The stocky, white or Hispanic male suspect is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s has donned a dark, poor quality, fake beard in each of the robberies.
Let's talk more about this beard. Just how "bad" is it? In some of the photos, the beard could be mistaken for a bad, but not fake, bit of facial hair. But it moved from place to place as the suspect hit different banks: in one instance, the beard ascends to sideburn level, but in other, it's affixed to the end of the suspect's chin like a tenacious reverse flat top.
Anyway. If you've got any information on the suspect, who is also described as 5'9" tall with dark brown or black hair, and who has worn blue jeans, ball caps, hooded sweatshirts, and lightweight zip-front jackets during the commission of the robberies, contact the FBI in Stockton at (209) 474-8293. He's suspected of hitting the following banks:
November 21, 2013: Bank of the West, 411 W. Main St., Ripon, California
November 26, 2013: Chase Bank, 123 Spreckels Ave., Manteca, California
December 3, 2013: Chase Bank, 691 W. 11th St., Tracy, California
December 4, 2013: Chase Bank, 4520 Dublin Blvd., Dublin, California
December 10, 2013: Citibank, 395 W El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, California
