A woman cyclist in her thirties died at San Francisco General Hospital this morning after being hit by a big rig truck while riding near Sixth and Folsom Streets in SoMa.
The accident occurred just after 7 a.m. this morning and closed streets in the area for a short time. The woman was taken to S.F. General with life-threatening injuries, but later succumbed to those same injuries. The woman has not yet been identified.
The SFPD's Major Accident Investigation Team is currently handling the investigation.
Update August, 15th: The cyclist has been identified as 24-year-old Amelie Le Moullac. According to police, the semi-truck was making a right turn onto Sixth Street from Folsom when it struck her.
