Although Pride season began with a slew of controversy, today's annual Gay Pride Parade went off without a hitch (that includes the very-SF moment when Bradley Manning supporters briefly interrupted the route). Mayor Ed Lee, Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, Nancy Pelosi, and host of queers all took part in the march.
The 5-plus-hour parade followed on the heels of Monday's DOMA and Prop 8 rulings by the SCOTUS. (Friday's gay marriage announcement ceremonies didn't hurt, either.)
