Can't a network call a guy first? W. Kamau Bell, it seems, was in the running for the Late Night after Jimmy Fallon leaves the show to take over The Tonight Show from Jay Leno. Instead, it was announced today that SNL's Seth Meyers, of Weekend Update fame, will take over Late Night once Fallon leaves. (Because late night can never have too many white male comedians.) Bell, who had to find out like the rest of us, responded on Twitter thusly:
THIS IS HOW I FIND OUT I LOST THE JOB, NBC!! RT @jdcarter: Seth Meyers to Succeed Fallon on ‘Late Night’ @nytimes ow.ly/kX4nl

Ouch.
Noted for his PowerPoint humor, Bay Area local Bell is currently the host of FX's Totally Biased. Since you can't catch him in NBC, check him out Thursday s at 11 p.m. (just before the abominable and unwatchable Brand X with Russell Brand at midnight). One bit he does on his show is to ask black and brown people if they have "Anything to Say to a White Guy?"
