A cyclist took a trip to the hospital this morning after an unfortunate incident with a 24-Divisadero bus in Bernal Heights. The bus was stopped at the intersection of Cortland Avenue and Bronte Street, picking up passengers when the unidentified bike rider slammed into the back of the vehicle.

According to Muni spokesman Paul Rose, the incident happened around 6:50 a.m. this morning. No word on whether or not the cyclist was wearing a helmet, or what the brake situation was like on this rider's steed, but the victim had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for forehead and lip wounds, so it sounds like they must have taken this one on the chin. Those injuries, thankfully, are not considered life threatening.

Anyhow: be careful around Muni buses, folks. They are wild and unpredictable beasts.
