Egads. A BART train hurled into a person during this morning's commute. The incident happened at the 12th Street station in Oakland.

Contra Costa Times reports: "BART officials were notified about 9:10 a.m. that a person was struck by a train and was trapped under the train, spokeswoman Alicia Trost said on the agency's information line. The condition of the person was not known immediately, she said."

Trains heading to Pittsburg/Bay Point and Richmond did not stop at the station. Traffic, as expected, was congested.

We'll update as soon as we know more about the condition of the injured party.
