Bi-Rite Soft Opens On Divisadero, Neighborhood Starts Waiting In Line [Update]

Bi-Rite Soft Opens On Divisadero, Neighborhood Starts Waiting In Line [Update]

The long-awaited Divisadero Bi-Rite boutique grocery store opened a few days early on Sunday afternoon for park-friendly sandwiches, ice cream and cut-to-order cheeses. The line waiting to get in when the grocer flung open the doors at 4 p.m. was already a good 30 people deep.

Meanwhile, down the street at The Mill, Four Barrel's toast & coffee offshoot, a videographer filmed happy customers leaving with brewed and leavened goods in hand. Far from up-and-coming, Divisadero, it seems, has arrived.

Update Monday, March 11: Just a heads up to anyone trying to beat potential lines — Yesterday's soft open means the grocer is still not officially open until Wednesday, March 13. It does not appear to be open for business Monday or Tuesday.
