After Ron Siegel's noted departure, over the weekend Parallel 37, the re-imagined restaurant at the Ritz-Cartlon that opened to much acclaim in 2012, announced their new chef: Michael Rotondo (formerly executive chef at Charlie Trotter's in Chicago). He'll maintain the restaurant's sleeker, more accessible vibe with his own take on “globally inspired California cuisine."

Per Inside Scoop, he's already got a jump start on a tasting menu. To wit: "He’s already in the Parallel 37 kitchen, and even though his new a la carte menu won’t be available for another few weeks, he’s testing the waters with a preview of sorts, in the form of an eight-course tasting menu, available now for $145 per person."
