In Alameda yesterday, a holiday argument between two sisters apparently got out of hand when one of them grabbed a knife — perhaps the very same one used to carve a Christmas ham or slice up a holiday pie — and stabbed the other one in the chest.

The melee that ensued at the home near Oakland's inner harbor around 10 p.m. last night left at least three other people injured. Four victims in total had to be taken to a nearby hospital and the sister with the knife was arrested once police officers arrived on the scene. No word yet on what set off the sister's rage, but we know from experience that fights between sisters are never pretty. And anyway, there are only so many days left to make use of our Knife Crime 2012 tag.
