Ridgway Gallery has unleashed some of the most exciting yet original exhibits in town these days. Take for example, their current exhibition, On a Clear Day We Were Lightning, which boasts the work of James Sterling Pitt, an artist who suffered a serious brain injury and whose recent work evolved as he gained cognitive function. "Interpretations of fleeting sights and sensorial experiences," is how the gallery describes the exhibit. On Saturday, a group of medical clinicians in the fields of physiatry, neuropsychology, physical therapy and pain medicine will sit on a panel at the SOMA gallery to discuss the effects of traumatic physical injury on the artistic impulse and how that affects creative tinkering.
Check out the panel discussion, as well as the exhibit, this Saturday, November 17th at 4 p.m. at Ridgway Gallery. On A Clear Day We Were Lightning runs until December 8th.
