A 19-year-old woman was grabbed from behind by a suspect who put his arm around her neck, stole her cell phone, and shoved her to the ground before running off yesterday morning. This all happened along a footbridge near City College at around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect is a man in his 20s, and obviously there aren't a lot of leads. The woman was walking by herself, likely playing with her cell phone at the time, and the attack follows on many, many other similar crimes around the city, particularly in and around the Wester Addition in recent months.

The woman suffered a few scrapes but declined medical treatment.

Anyone with any (unlikely) tips in this crime are asked to contact the SFPD by text at TIP411 or at (415) 575-4444.
