Now that Divisadero is the new Valencia (haven't you heard?), petty crime appears to be on the uptick. With rapid gentrification comes some growing pains, and the SFPD is warning people not to be so cavalier with their iPhones as they bop in and out of Nopa, Vinyl, and Bar Crudo, unless they want to lose them to thieves.

There have been at least three cell phone robberies and a total of five reported incidents of thievery on the Divisadero corridor, including two incidents where the thief flashed a "simulated gun." The first couple of incidents happened around July 28 near Divis and Eddy, and all of them have been within a few blocks of each other.

This is still the Western Addition, people, no matter what that broker told you! Mind your belongings. And once the new Bi-Rite opens next door to Nopa, those with fancy dogs should think twice about tying them up outside like they do on 18th Street. You've been warned.
