Matier and Ross report this morning that, according to a poll conducted from Aug. 23 to Sept. 1 by Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz and Associates, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee's shine has lost a bit of its luster. While the mayor scored "a favorable job-approval rating with 49 percent of voters," a mere 9 percent granted Lee with "excellent" reviews, while around 40 percent give his overall job as mayor "pretty good."
Only 12 perfect of the 850 voters surveyed say Lee is doing a "poor" job. As for the expected Newsom comparison, former Gav campaign manager Eric Jaye tells Matier and Ross, "It's about where (former Mayor Gavin) Newsom was at his lowest...I'd say it's a cause for concern, but not terrible."
The duo also have insight into the local election, namely the odds for District 1, 5, and 7 supervisor candidates.
