President Obama swung through the Bay Area on another one of his fundraising campaign stops yesterday. While he was met with medical marijuana demonstrations on the streets of Oakland yesterday afternoon, the President got an even warmer East Bay welcome at an intimate 50-60 person private dinner event in Piedmont Monday evening.
According to a report from Chicago Tribune White House reporter Michael Memoli, the dinner hosted at the home of progressive activists Wayne Jordan and Quinn Delaney kicked off with Delaney presenting the most powerful man in the free world with a black "I Hella [Heart] Oakland" t-shirt.
Following the t-shirt presentation and a short speech in which the POTUS made fun of body man Marvin Nicholson's preference for hot dogs and pizza, dinner at the Quinn-Delaney residence included courses of grilled jumbo prawns with avocados and heirloom tomatoes, dry aged beef tenderloin and a "chocolate cherry bombe" for dessert.
