A few more details have emerged about the murder that occurred outside Double Dutch on Friday night, though still no arrests have been made. The victim, Lorenzo Jimenez, 24, was allegedly confronted inside the bar by a group of five to ten people who then "chased" him out of the bar to the curb, where they beat him up and one individual shot him in the head at point blank range. Jimenez, of Sacramento, did not know any of his attackers according to police, and the attack was unprovoked.

Friends describe Jimenez to the Examiner as a "gentle giant" and "well respected in his home town."

Jimenez died over the weekend at S.F. General when he was removed from life support, though that fact was not clear in the first reports that came out on Monday.

Investigators are still working to figure out whether the attack was gang-related. No suspects have been named, and police are still seeking witnesses who may have seen the attackers in or outside the bar on Friday just before 11:30 p.m. There were, quite obviously, a lot of witnesses to this crime. Witnesses are asked to call 415-575-4444 or text an anonymous tip to TIP411.

This was S.F.'s 29th homicide of the year, and the third thus far in the Mission.
