A couple days after Election Day, we now have to admonish you about the low voter turnout. Your medicine: Only a dismal 25 percent of voters turned out for Tuesday's primary election. While certainly not an exciting day at the ballot box, it's still pretty puny. "Nearly 25 percent of San Francisco voters marked their ballots, but just less than 10 percent made it out to a polling place," notes SF Appeal. "Rather, nearly 15 percent voted by mail, according to the county elections department."
Sonoma County had the highest turnout in the region with a depressing 37 percent of registered voters casting ballots, followed by Marin and Contra Costa with 35.44 percent and 30.78 percent, respectively.
