Coty Luster, an 18-year-old man, was shot "multiple times" near his home in West Oakland. The incident occurred Thursday in the 1100 block of 34th Street. Luster was pronounced dead at the scene at around 8:45 p.m. Police have neither a motive nor a suspect in custody.

This makes Oakland's 40th homicide of the year
