Former Mayor and recovering substance abuser Gavin Newsom found some curious inspiration all the way from Kingston, Jamaica on the noted stoner holiday. As the Lite Gov. tweeted, in a surprising plug for marijuana culture (and a new documentary from Magnolia Pictures): "Go see the @BobMarley doc - still inspired by the man, the music, the legacy. It's out today. Great documentary."

Hopefully, this bodes well for the forthcoming Gavin Newsom Show on Current TV, which we can only assume will be more like Da Ali G Show and less like Keith Olbermann's short-lived montage of stern faces.
