The quiet, deep-East Bay city of Brentwood was the site of a tragic scene Wednesday afternoon when a husband and wife were killed in an apparent murder-suicide. The couple, who were in their 40s, were discovered by their teenage daughter.

This happened on the 1000 block of Finn Way in Brentwood, a Contra Costa County town of 51,000 where little in the way of violent crime occurs. This homicide is the first to occur there this year, and there were none in 2011.
