Attention 14-Mission and 49-Van Ness riders: much needed road repairs are coming to Mission Street starting tomorrow, Saturday March 3rd. While the busiest stretch between 16th and Cesar Chavez will be nice and smoothed-out by the end of Summer, two of the city's busiest bus lines will be running a block East on South Van Ness for the next six months.
The 14, 14L and the 49 routes will all be hanging a left on to 16th as they go south down Mission Street and will parallel the regular routes for 10 blocks in the Inner Mission. According to SFMTA's notice about the construction, other Inner Mission lines could get sporadic and temporary re-routes while road crews replace a water main, install curb ramps and repave the pothole-ridden Mission Street.
