Perhaps encouraged by Tony Bennett's continued success with his San Francisco anthem, three-time Grammy winners Train have announced a six show tour of their adopted and largely ambivalent hometown. The "San Francisco Tour 2012" kicks off on the tiny stage at Café Du Nord on April 10th where eager fans will be able to have earworms like "Save Me, San Francisco" and "Hey, Soul Sister" shoved directly in to their ear canals without all the hassles of big stadium shows like the band's next appearance doing the national anthem at the Daytona 500. Below, the full list of dates on the San Francisco Tour, for the Train superfans:
4/10 - Café Du Nord
4/11 - Great American Music Hall
4/12 - Bimbo's
4/13 - Slim's
4/14 - The Independent
4/15 - Fillmore
In other Train news, the band has revealed the enthralling cover art for their sixth full-length studio album, California 37. We're sure it's full of gems that we'll be hearing at Giants games all summer. Also, did you know Train has their own wine label? It's called Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. and includes varietals like the "Drops of Jupiter" Petite Syrah and "Calling All Angels" Chardonnay, obviously.
Here's the band doing "Save Me, San Francisco" last year at the Giants' home opener:
