Roosevelt Middle School (1926 East 19th Street) is on lockdown after somebody nearby carrying several guns fired shots at around 10:30 today. "The incident began about 10:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of 17th Avenue when the suspect came out of a house with multiple handguns and opened fire," reports Oakland Tribune. "All on-duty Oakland police officers have been called to the scene and officers are only responding to 911 calls at this time."
Officers returned fire, but there are no reports of any injures. The area between 14th to 19th avenues, from East 21st to East 24th streets are closed. The arm gunman is possibly "hiding somewhere in that area."
