As is our monthly tradition around here, we now present our favorite utterances from the February issue of San Francisco's "most exclusive news magazine". Provided (mostly) without commentary and in no particular order. This month's themes: Romance, Love, and the 17th Annual "Eligibles" list. Observe:

They’re opening a restaurant in the back." - Steven Alan owner and CEO Steven Alan on why he, Steven Alan, chose to place his latest storefront in Hayes Valley, quoted in Pamela Troy's Hayes Valley Neighborhood Retail Report.

• "Together with event designer Stanlee Gatti, Laurie [Arons] produced one wedding reception that she describes as “almost Shakespearian in abundance.” The highlight was one long table set on a lawn and strewn with pillows, oversized goblets teeming with grapes—and young dancing girls whimsically dressed as flower fairies, with wings and tutus." - Val Reilly describing Vanessa and Bill Getty's wedding reception in her Icons of Style report on local wedding planners.

• "Along with meals designed by celebrity chefs, the trend is toward color schemes inspired by well-known fashion labels.
