A female prosecutor was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of domestic violence, and we can't help but wonder to what degree this was happy revenge for Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi. Assistant District Attorney Sanaz Nikaein, age 34, was arrested and released on bail Saturday after an undisclosed incident.

As the Chron is reporting, the alleged victim has not been revealed. Also, "the office of state Attorney General Kamala Harris was handling the case to avoid a potential conflict of interest." DA George Gascon, for whom Nikaein works, is of course in the process of prosecuting Mirkarimi on three misdemeanor counts of domestic violence.

You can't tell us Mirkarimi isn't a little bit pleased about this.
