In Richmond, California, a 43-year-old man walking his bicycle along some train tracks just North of Interstate 580 around 3 a.m. last night believes he was the target of a rooftop sniper. The victim, who was later found by a train engineer who stopped to let him cross the tracks, told police he had been walking along when he noticed someone spotting him with a laser sight from a nearby rooftop in the area lined with warehouses and self-storage units. The sniper opened fire, hitting the man in both legs.
According to Bay City News, those injuries were not considered life threatening, but the biker/victim was taken to a hospital to be treated. Police, meanwhile, were unable to locate any potential suspects or snipers in the area, but according to CBS5's on-scene report from the 6 a.m. news authorities believe his story.
