A five-year-old Oakland boy died at Children's Hospital late Friday night after being struck in the neck by shots fired from a car passing by his family's taco truck on International Boulevard. Gabriel Martinez Jr. was the only victim of the drive-by shots that rang out just before 9 p.m. Friday. He was transported to the hospital where he was declared dead about an hour later.
The Oakland Police Department and Crime Stoppers are offering a $25,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in the shooting. Those with any information are asked to call Oakland PD's tip line at: (510) 773-2805.
Sadly, Gabriel Martinez Jr. was the fourth child shot in Oakland in 2011.
