With tonight being the last night for many to hit the sauce before getting in some quality time with the family over Christmas, SFPD has announced they will be setting up a sobriety checkpoint at Embarcadero and Washington Streets starting at 8:30 p.m. tonight and continuing through the wee hours of the morning until 3 a.m. tomorrow.
Earlier this week, SFAppeal reported that DUI busts have gone up during SFPD's annual holiday enforcement period (the high season for holiday parties, basically), so we can assume that local law enforcement are being extra serious about driving under the influence this year. Whatever your plans are, make sure you've got a safe ride home, folks.
